Brett Favre's Parkinsonism

It’s such a violent sport.

NFL Hall of Famer Brett Favre has revealed he was recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease at the age of 54 - after suffering multiple concussions throughout his two decade career.

That sucks. I wouldn’t wish Parkinson’s on anyone, even a person as awful as Favre.

Parkinson’s is horrible. I hope someday science can find a cure.

Still needs to pay that money back.

Maybe if you had someone close to you die after battling Parkinsonism for years you wouldn’t make jokes like that.

I didn’t see it as a joke, but a fact.

I have two friends dealing with it. Seeing them wither makes me want to cry just thinking about them.

We lost my mother-in-law to Parkinson’s just after New Year’s Day this year. We lost my wife’s favorite uncle, her mother’s younger brother a few years ago to the same terrible disease.

Not a pleasant end to anyone’s life, and difficult for the entire family. :disappointed:

How about as a threadjack in poor taste?

I have had many fam members die from it. Maybe if you know communities plagued by corruption who have had politicians and fake conservatives steal money from the tax payers to make themselves wealthy you would see a statement of fact and not a “joke.”

Not mad at you. I am mad at Brett and the ■■■■■■■■ politicians of Mississippi.

Poor Taste? Nah. The post title is “Brett Favre” and not about Parkinsons solely. The guy getting an illness does not absolve him of his horribly led life. When people are a plague on society and let’s not forget his cell photos sent to young female reporters. Not gonna sit here and equate him to someone who hasn’t lived an awful life and feasted on others.

…Has anyone said that it does?

Anyway, it’s a shame that such a violent sport that we all enjoy ruins so many lives. I hope the ongoing efforts to minimize those brain injuries produce better and better results.

Nope. Thus why I said what I said. Why have sympathy for a man who didn’t show remorse or sympathy to his victims? Imagine someone being awful to your region of the country taking advantage of the poorest among you. He gets an awful disease. Are you going to let it slide to remind people that they are still in possession of the dollars from the mouths of those it was supposed to benefit.

Now, as for CTE and these results… it’s why I pray someone really gets Tua to retire.

He never sent me any pics.

How’s that for a threadjack in poor taste?

I guess I have a different criteria for what a “horrible” enough life is such that I don’t feel compassion for them when they develop a horrifying disease. Something about punishment fitting the crime.

A sexual predator who robs the poor. You’re right. He deserves worse. Let’s not act like he didn’t commit an entire welfare scandal that is Mississippi’s largest-ever public corruption case.

Isn’t the State of Mississippi a big corruption case in and of itself? Then again, when Huey Long was Governor of Louisiana he built the most expensive 1/4 mile of interstate highway ever built. No special engineering or purchases required.

Maybe they get this way by being Florida-adjacent.

So to clarify, had he escaped parkinsons, if it were within your power, you would have otherwise given him a state sponsored death penalty for his crimes?

Nah. A long slow death behind bars would also work. I’m anti death penalty.

The unintelligent keep voting for nationalistic populists that punish the poor and middle class in these parts. Very frustrating. These new tariffs taxing the poor even more when that man gets back in will be a shame.

If you could personally have given him Parkinson’s though you wouldn’t do it because you’re anti death penalty?
