Baylor v utah

Those pools are very intermixed.

There are only so many “high level” officials.

They often work 2-4 games in a week as this is their second job (a good paying one, but second none the less)

the frustrating thing is that Cam got hurt on wasted play that was going nowhere. A play that Cam would have been better off just taking the loss. He’s got to be smarter. I’ve watched Tom Brady literally curl up the fetal posession and live to play another down rather than risk a big hit.

Can’t argue with logic. I think the injury occured on the stiff arm to the face guard not the cheap-shot shove in the Gatorfluid.
Dude was huge, and coming in hot. It’s OK to slide.

Well, some of the better news, Michigan lost, so did Notre Dame. I hope that helps us in the polls.

Cam didn’t look too put out after the game. Hopefully he heals just fine. Perhaps he misses the USU game, to heal and give Wilson some more reps.

Is anyone else concerned about Wilson going up against USU? I am.

Me too.

He spent some quality time talking to the ref about it after he came out in street clothes. Stayed calm and leaderlike, but it was clear he let them know he thought they missed it.

Cam just should have let that throw away fly much earlier. That play just wasn’t going anywhere. Better to live to fight another play.

All too true about the play. The refs did miss that call, among others, but oh well. Here’s to Rising healing fast.

Just me, or was that one of the hottest games in recent memory?

It was simply miserable sitting in the stands, hence the kinda weird crowd vibe.

My son who’s an assistant coach at West was telling us that he expects to see more shotgun snaps for Wilson. Eric Kjar’s offense at Corner Canyon is designed for direct snaps and quick reads, so Wilson hasn’t had as much experience under center, dropping back, rolling after a play fake, and finding his targets. I think some of that was shown on an incompletion where he tried to get the ball to Parks at the sideline and Singer was all alone 15 yards straight in front of him with nobody in between them.

It will be interesting to see what adjustments they make to accommodate his skill set and, let’s face it, shorter stature.

I now understand why Brandon Rose did not go into the portal—if he was beaten out of the backup role by Wilson, (who looked overmatched yesterday) after being here forever then he might be happy just to keep his scholarship at the U.
But I still don’t understand why they recruited Sam Huard-who has experience/was a 5* recruit at one time & he is buried in the depth chart.

Despite being a 5* recruit, Huard could never get off the bench at Washington, had a decent (not great) year at FCS. I’m guessing they took Huard because they weren’t sure that either Wilson or Rose could do it.

I don’t get the hand wringing over Wilson.

He’s a true freshman, he’s going to make mistakes. But, at least to me, it’s obvious he’s got the ability and is a leader.

Alex Smith looked very similar his first few games.

I’m concerned more that the OL has failed to consistently protect the QB or establish the run game. If any of you watched the Arkansas/ Oklahoma St. game, the Arkansas OL opened huge holes for JJ to run through. Bernard had few large run lanes.

It will be interesting to see how Wilson does if he gets the full week of 80% of reps as opposed to 20%. Although sprint outs cut the width of the field the defense has to cover, I think they need to do that for Wilson a little more.

Wilson will do fine if the OL gets push on the run and gives him time.

Just read that the heat index was 110 and that there were over 50 “heat related medical incidents” yesterday.

I swear it felt like a microwave in the stands.

Given the heat nightmare in Waco last season, I blame Baylor for it.

It looked to me like Baylor didn’t have any of those fog fans on their sideline like we had on ours. Did I see that right? If so, what the literal Hell were they thinking? I get they’re less effective in the humidity of Waco, but you’d think they’d know they work great in arid conditions.

I skipped the tailgating because I just was feeling a bit woozy around 10am, but frankly, considering the temperature spike yesterday, and the alarm over Cam Rising, I am just as happy I stayed locked on my working at progress in the latest World of Warcraft expansion. I am 3 days from the 15th anniversary of the first day I began to play, and now is not the time to suddenly get slack over the enormous investment over all those years! LOL

National media still not willing to give much if any respect, but frankly, considering the Oregon and Florida State overvaluing, I’m more than happy to just chill out until the CFP assessment begins later.

I mean at least the press are being reasonable about the Oregon reality, but apparently the old buddies network is STILL giving Oregon far more credit than they deserve. Barely winning fora a second week in a row? Two Idaho teams in a row they had to struggle against… this aint the giantkilling Boise State any more, after all.

We all know damn well how crucified Utah would get if they had barely won against those two teams. As long as their Sugar Daddy keeps paying for everything, voters still gonna fall all over themselves fellating that program.
