Colorado just upset TCU, 69-67. That’s #16 vs #9, respectively.
Am I looking at the bracket correctly? Utah and the other teams that play today would have to win five games to win the tournament? Not that something like that is going to happen. I give Utah a 55% chance of winning tonight. Then, in a revenge game, Kansas will blow Utah out by 25. I just BYU doesn’t get far. But they might. Sigh.
That floor is hideous.
Typical first half for Utah. Lose a big lead, shoot poorly from the line, brick a bunch of threes, give up a lot of threes, turn the ball over.
Killed them in the paint most of the first half. Now a combination of UCF cutting that off and ineptitude when we do get a chance inside, and when we shoot threes, which we only hit 8.3% of in the first half, it’s desperation.
Looks like I won’t miss anything tomorrow night when I couldn’t watch anyway.
This is ugly. Gabe hits his charity stripe shots and can’t hit anything else.
Well, that fell apart fast.
1 of 18 from three? Guess I shouldn’t be surprised.
And, of course, 8-17 FT at 47%. Haha
I know it’s been easy to complain that we have to relearn who all the players are at the start of the new season, but in this case that could be refreshing. The only guy I’m sure I’d like to keep is Dawes. Little and Wahlin are maybes. The rest, meh.
being out scored 35-18 in the second half
I’m good if Utah starts from scratch.
Stick a fork in it.
Anyone know why Ezra was out tonight?
Hurt his knee toward the end of the game in Provostan.
I said in the Women’s thread that I am surprised that they don’t issue seizure warnings with that floor.
I’m actually relieved the season is over for the Utes. Time for a restart with Jensen. I’m not expecting 90s–early 2000s-type success right off the bat, but I am hoping Jensen (along with some much-needed NIL cash) can have the Utes back to making the NCAA Tournament regularly.

I knew this Brett Yormark guy was trouble!
In the Big 12, you probably need to be 0.500 in conference play (10-10) and 20 wins (maybe 19 depending on non-conference quads) and you make the tournament. That’s kind of where it’s falling this year: 8 teams, Baylor/WVU 19-13 (10-10) both projected 10ish seeds (both still alive in the conf tournament).
