Bingo. What could be worse?

When we only need 2 yards for a crucial first down why throw it long?

So again it’s 4th and 5 and we chuck a Hail Mary 30 yards down the field? This is Utah playing in a way we haven’t seen since the McBride days.

Edit: I guess it wasn’t really a Hail Mary, but it was a desperation type play. We weren’t in that situation. We just needed a first down! Just a few yards.

This team is worse than our first two PAC 12 teams that went 5-7. There’s no defendable reason for this.

Dang, I really thought the Utes would pull it out this game! Hopefully Isaac Wilson will learn a grow quickly as I still see Utah going bowling and finishing the season 9-4.

Best of luck the rest of the season! (Except the Holy War)

Yeah, that was not a good play call. I was scratching my head on both of those.

I haven’t seen an Utah team so lost at home since the TCU blowout years ago.

Still unsatisfied. That is all.

As a fan I can handle having a sucky season or a really late night game but I’m too old to handle both.

10:30 will be my I’m going to bed cut off the rest of this season.

Currently less sad about them destroying my long term seating in the SEZ to build those horrendous box seats…which still look absurd on TV.

In part because we only have 2 good receivers & a tight end. Calderella & Pittman are the other receivers/wide outs; combined they had 1 catch for 5 yards. So D’s can send extra rushers & not worry about getting burned.

So it’s not okay calling or execution. Just lack of talent. Ugh.

I don’t remember the exact words, but in the radio post game interview Whitt implied that nobody’s job is safe right now. If so there could be some upheaval this week. He sounded really frustrated, as well he should.

When asked about his team’s execution John McKay once said he was in favor of it.

Then again the team in question was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and they were wearing the Creamsicle Jerseys.

In the Trib Whit said they had to make some hard decisions. Like:

Should he retire or announce he is retiring—probably not; as not his style.

Ludwig is no longer calling plays- maybe, but who would call the plays? Harding-yuck; another position coach unlikely as none have been here that long. Cam Rising—lol at least he would be earning his $$.

Wilson sits & Brandon Rose is new QB—might be most likely, but really?

They find Glover & Alford—who are both currently still on the roster. Might be a good idea.

??

And there it is, Steve Bartle reporting Ludwig is gone.

Confirmed here in this SI article.

I get it, I trust Whitt’s judgement, and I’m also a little sorry to see this. Under Ludwig II Utah had the best offenses ever in the Whit era, IMO. Convince me I am wrong.

Well, at least we don’t have to have a chorus of “Fire Ludwig” again. Begs the questions of : why, and why now?

We can guess as to the why, but not the now. At least a definitive why now has me confused.

Yeah, I always try to reason my way through these puzzling decisions by reminding myself that there’s a lot going on behind the scenes and inside the team dynamic that we don’t know about.

I think that ends speculation that Whitt is done after this year. I wouldnt think Ludwig is gone if that decision has been made?

Additionally, Josh Furlong tweeted out that a Utah offensive lineman graded out at less than a 6 on Saturday Night (6 out of a 100). Thats more than a little concerning.
