Another reason to smile

Mrs CCU and I knew Jeff, and his Dad Ken pretty when we lived in Salt Lake. We were both officiating, and I was racing every so often with Ken. I did plenty of winter training rides with Jeff. So I try to follow Jeff’s career as best I can. Since he retired from racing, thus getting into the equivalent of sideline coaching he became somewhat anonymous.

As you can see from the article, Covid did a number on racing across the world, and dampened development of many smaller teams and new riders. Jeff has decided to move into race promotion and development. It won’t replace the Tour of Utah, which was ended earlier this year by Medallist Sports.

Anyway, read the article. Have a smile. If you’re into gravel or off road riding, keep an eye on what Jeff Louder is doing. Keep an eye on the Crushar in the Tushar (started by Burke Swindlehurst), and for other “self supported” type events in the region.

Is that even possible?
