I was at the game, I had a great time until the last couple of minutes when the unthinkable once again seems to occur. The last 2 minutes and how the byU fans acted afterwards is why I hate byU and their fans!
But I digress…
I offer this question to you all:
Why does UTAH always seem to take their foot off the gas? I mean things were looking good, then the engine just died.
I remember the bad seasons when byU would run the score up to a sickeningly high amount. Why don’t we ever seem to return the favor? Let’s not take our foot off the gas and try to beat byU by like 100 or so. I mean just roll them into a mess. Return the favor!!!
Also, I’m kind of hot at the refs. They were not good, fair or consistent!
And that’s my rant, except for this plea… don’t take your foot off the gas! Don’t take your foot off the throat!!! Drive, drive, drive and drive them into the ground!!!
It’s bad coaching. I am not a fan of Whittingham, and this game adds to the long list of games where he just doesn’t get it done. He’s overrated, but I’m a nobody, so I doubt it will have any effect on how Utah is coached for the next few years.
I think under the circumstances, it’s easy to overlook giving Jay Hill and the BYU defense credit. They made adjustments in the 2nd half after seeing Rose and Bajakian put up 21 in the first quarter.
Also, after Rose got some big gains on runs, you could start to see him get more conservative. He started to slide, and seemed less wiling to call his own number. It looked like he was limping a bit. That took away an unpredictable part of our offense.
I saw that limp too my wife even mentioned it. Also can we afford to have him go down too?
It was his first start and he showed heart and grit. It was close against a hated rival who is in the top 10.
I am sick about the ending but the team played better ball than they have all year. Did they do it all 4 quarters? Nope. They stalled out and BYU who does have some good coaches, made adjustments. Maybe adjustments out first time starter wasn’t ready for. Not an entire shocker.
That being said, I’d play that game again and before last week if you said we’d be that close I’d have laughed.
Oh and those refs still suck. God I want out of the Big12 conference.
