What you are saying may be technically true, but I’d be very surprised if each conference doesn’t have a tendency to pull similar crews season over season. So I’m guess that what Thrill is saying is not that they are ‘WCC Officials’ per se, but more that they are officials that predominantly work WCC games. I tend to trust Thrill when he weighs in, as I know he watches this closer than most mortals.
Be that as it may, word gets around. Officials talk shop as much as anyone. They pass on who’s easy to work with, and who’s not. I speak from personal experience as an official, different sport, same goals --player safety, rules enforcement, etc. If you’ve had a problem with someone, you tend to tell other officials who was the problem and what the problem was. This will bite the Zoob in the butt at some point this year. Same goes if you have ever waited tables, word gets around who tips well, who doesn’t, etc. Same for working for a PITA in a small town. If the PITA is too big of a PITA, word gets around, soon dude has really bad or no employees.
Majerus was a smart BBall cookie. He made it fun to watch, and made me want to learn a bit more about the game. What little I do know is because of the Fat Man.
Then there’s this guy.

Yes, technically correct but in looking at their games it’s a majority in the WCC for them. Two of them, Nixon and Lehigh tend to do a lot of them same games together.
