So we spend money sending the team to Vegas to lose a game?
I hope they at least get to have a Dom party at Spearmint Rhino.

Hunter Erickson to the portal.
Interesting>
He has played 5 years, so his year in JUCO at SLCC doesnāt count.
New ruling makes years in juco, even retroactive ones, not count against eligibility.
Weāll see what happens, but I thought Hunter progressed at Utah, especially in his second year.
He had kind of been a brick mason, but hit a number of big 3s this season, nails at the line. Not a lock down defender, but definitely a D1 athlete, apparent on some impressive dunks, especially that one in Provo.
The guard rotation was messy this year and Erickson got lost in that, but it would be interesting to see what a year under AJ would result in.
I agree. He really improved. I used to be terrified when heād come in, but this year I had confidence. As for his D, I think it was the BYU game where had to switch off to one of their big guys ( Treore, maybe?) and Hunter blanketed him. Worked his butt off on that possession.
Hunter had some hot and cold shooting spells (not uncommon on this yearās team) and had his share of mistakes, but made a gigantic trey in OT in the Hunty to help beat his former team.
Very hard working and scrappy player who Iāve enjoyed watching.
What Hunter could help with is the adage āGet old. Stay old.ā
I donāt ever see him being a major contributor, but at this point, he would be a boon to our bench if he came back.
LOL. Lawson Lovering, who I have no clue why he has another year of eligibility, is hitting the portal.
You know, he works hard and seems like a good young man. Occasionally, he would make some nice plays. But heās possibly the worst free-throw shooter I have ever seen and has extremely limited skills. Itās always nice to have height, but this doesnāt look like a big loss, unless, of course, Utah canāt find a replacement at his position.
And yeah, how does he have more eligibility?
If we cannot improve on Lawson, Alex is the wrong guy
If he has an unlimited budget.
We could have no NIL and do better than Lovering

By my count, we now have Brandon Haddock, Jayden Teat, Hunter Erickson, Miro Little, Jake Wahlin, Lawson Lovering and Joul Karram in the transfer portal.
I would like to keep Erikson, Little, and Wahlin.
Would like Dawes to stay. By far the best rebounder on the team.
Dawes plays bigger than 6-9 and has a lot of upside. Iām not saying heās an NBA player, but we need more length. Itās really hard to compensate for not having it.
Reading where in 2023, about 175 players entered the portal, in 2024 it was 291. This season over 700.
Another NBA hire.
