watching espn, these interviews after each pick is just a waste of bandwidth
i wanted Tre Johnson but i like having an “ace” on the team. back to not watching and following Minnesota to see what Gobert is doing.
I am admittedly no NBA guru, but how in the world did that Demin kid from BYU get picked 8th? I was not impressed with him.
i think the jazz came out ok this year
Ace is, apparently, already saying he didn’t want to go to Utah. Ugh. Hopefully he can take the tens of millions with grace while waiting to leave for another team.
The NBA is great!
I might be rolling solo here, but the Jazz should’ve grabbed the Center from Duke. That kid was something special for a player his size.
Grabbing the next Kyrie Irving or Ja Morant will end badly in a place like SLC.
The deal for the guard from Florida was a good one though. That kid can shoot, but he can also dish the ball. In some ways his game reminds me of a more athletic “Pasty Gangster’s” game.
I think the Jazz did really well.
The Pelicans on the other hand…trading an unprotected 2026 first rounder is absolutely bonkers.
Nobody wants to go to Utah.
Ace Bailey is a baller. Khaman Maluach, eh. I wouldn’t take that dude over Ace Bailey.
Now, 6’10 is what he and others are saying but I am not sure he’s 6’8. Very much a Michael Porter Jr. or Brandom Ingram type of player.
i would be suprised if ACe is here in three years . I look forward to him and Jordan fighting over touches. He might get here and decide he is rich and SLC aint so bad.
i might retract this statement after fall camp.
some of Romes best gloss.
There’s a chance to turn him around on SLC & the Jazz…
… but then there’s this: “Bailey declined multiple invite requests to visit and workout privately with Utah throughout the predraft process".
Opinions about the Jazz draft are all over the place. Utah Jazz: Draft grades for the first round of the 2025 NBA draft – Deseret News
Loving that the Lakers went from 55 to 36 by dropping bags of cash. The Dodgers owner buying the Lakers and doing what he knows best is great for me.
He did that to every team but one.
I’m not a Jazz fan, but I hope this kid pans out for them. It’s pretty damned dubious when “his people” allegedly are trying to engineer him getting to the team he wants to play for. It speaks to having an attitude problem. Ace can have mad otherworldly skills, but he turns into Yoko in the locker room, he could easily make the Jazz another lottery team again next summer. Many of the pundits were surprised they took him based on the concerns of the other teams.
To have gone out and actively sucked as much as the Jazz did last season, then get stiffed by their highest draft pick in 30 years would not bode well.
Eh. It’s just like Elway and the Mannings using their clout for the optimal situation. If you are wanting to be a pro basketball player and take advantage of market to get endorsement deals etc the Jazz organization has been less than optimal to be a part of in recent decades. It’s not like being part of the A’s organization in baseball but it’s still not the top tier club to be with.
The city is not what they are commenting on IMHO.
Tangential item…
Jakob got paid today.
