2025-2026 Men's Basketball

Dybantsa is a talent, he’ll play in the league for a number of years, but Arizona revealed he’s not that athletic. He repeatedly had issues getting beyond defensive pressure on the ball.

More like Kyle Anderson than Dominique Wilkins.

Agreed. An ESPN article called him a “generational talent.” Seemed a bit over the top for a guy who has played 20 games, seven against conference competition.

The last zoob generational talent was Jimmer, so that tracks.

AJ is a good player. Is he a talent for the NBA? Yes, but he is going to have a lot of work to do if he wants to be a superstar player.

True. There have been scores of players like him in the college ranks over the years. Some get to the next level and excel, some are good but not great players, and some fade away and do nothing. It depends on how hard he works, what kind of coaching he gets, what players he has around him, and what type of organization he goes to.

TDS and its expensive collection of rented players are down 20 at halftime. I suspect they’ll claw back into it, but I’d love to see KU beat them by 35. But I guess I’ll take any margin.

Anyone heard an update on Langarita? Out for the year, or just a few games?

This team is so frustrating to watch.

Not a word since he went down. I had actually been blaming some of that on the Tribune which didn’t report a single Utes sports story (just some Monson drivel columns) for two full weeks until they finally reported on the new ballpark.

That was a tough game, yesterday. I really felt for Brown late in the game, visibly upset in a game where it was possible to start to change the trajectory of the season.

Hopefully that’s a low point and they do better.

Alex was pretty disappointed with what he said was some regression to selfish play at both ends when the game got away from them at the end. To his credit, though, he stays in teacher mode the whole game. Nobody is getting dressed down in front of the crowd. Just keeping the long term perspective.

Somebody needs to tell K State that those uniforms are hideous.

Game against ASU tonight at 7 who has one of the most annoying coaches in all of college hoops.

Really a game we need to win.

My step son is taking my tix for tonight and taking his six year old. He’s not a big follower of the team, so I better make sure to tell him to give Hurley as much grief as possible.

Hurley needs to realize he’s not at Duke anymore. He’s not going to get the benefit of every call, regardless of how much he whines.

So who is bringing Hurley a cheese plate tonight. He might need something to snack on with his whine.

This is a must-win. I don’t see another victory for quite a while after this one.

this first half is killing our CBI seeding

This is what happens when your team is clueless or lazy about defense and has an off night shooting. You get slaughtered by a bad team on your own court. Someone asked about the player from Spain. This team has more pressing needs than more players however good. It needs to learn that defense and rebounding, which aren’t as fun as shooting and require hard work and commitment to system, are what make wins in college ball. Alex needs to forget everything he learned as an NBA assistant and relearn what he knew back st St. Louis U. I also have no idea why the entire team from last year, which could have returned almost intact, had to be disbanded except one, including starters for USC and ranked Clemson.

This team has the seventh leading scorer in the nation and its record is underwater. It has lost to non-P4 teams at home while giving up bundles of points.

NIL is not what’s wrong with this team.

A very discouraging night getting blasted off the floor in the opening half by one of the other conference bottom feeders. Could say lots of negative things about the game, but will note that Okonkwo and Dawes were beasts on the boards against taller competition and Traore had one of his more respectable outings.

After showing improvement for a while, team took a few steps back last couple of games.
