UCLA Amari Bailey going pro. Joins Jaquez , Tyger & Clark. Maybe Lazar will get a chance to play there after all.
Bailey might make the NBA—doubtful for the rest.
Between portal & turning pro—hard to predict the PAC—-not to mention the rest of Mens BB next year.
jaquez is a late first rounder.
Maybe—not sure he is better than Juzang—who was undrafted.
During the tourney, analysts were talking about Mick Cronin as a brilliant Xs and Os coach. His team seemed to reflect that - they operated at a very high level, executed whatever he dialed up.
Lazar seems to fit Cronin’s model - super fundamentally sound, driven, etc.
My sense is Jacquez & Tyger are great college players who will get overwhelmed by NBA talent. I wanted Juzang to be like he was at UCLA. The NBA is a massive jump.
There aren’t any more Mugsy Bogues in the NBA - now it’s guys like De’Aaron Fox, who took 6 years to grow into the role, but now is eating the rest of the league alive.
Lazar will thrive in cronin system … Most players wouuld … hmmm

I like this pick up. Tall Shooters are a premium in college hoops. If BC comes back having a shooter like this over Marco will be an upgrade offensively.
I fell like we still need a PF that can score inside on a post up.

The front court would be pretty strong with Carlson coming back. Put carlson at PF and Lovering at C. Bring in Keita to spell them both. Bajema Starts at SF and other carlson comes in for him also can play PF. Tarlac would have to make a big jump to do anything. The guards are the cinnabon, Exacto Knife, Worster and Erickson. If we could pick up a really good PG we would be a tournament team.

agreed back up pg burned us again last year when Rollie went down. Need a young gut to develop.
If Luka can make any kind of jump this year it would be huge. I don’t have a lot of faith in that though. He’s got a ways to go.

Now Rylan Jones has entered the portal. Aggies have had a brutal loss of players this off season.

Have greatly admired Rylan. Tough and hard working, reminds me of Jimmy Soto. But with several concussions over the last few seasons I fear that he may have some troubling health issues if he keeps on getting knocked around.
Yeah, I think he missed the last half of the season at USU due to a concussion. His playing days might be over.
This is sad. Shows you that life involves an element of crap shoot. Utah has had some great point guards. Have any had a better rookie season than Jones? I don’t think Miller or Soto or Jonas did. Freshman year was his way high water mark. I looked forward to him being one of our all time greats. And he did it in the Pac 12. May not have been a good move to leave in a sulk when K and his staff got fired.
