Just let him do his thing…he’s our Cliff Claven. By God, not every message board can boast having a Cliffy.
No, I’m just being a pedantic geography nerd /snerk
cant you come up with a better analog than HIM?? Yikes. I think I might be mildly insulted.
BTW I actually went through the first stage of a Jeapoardy recruiting trip when they came to our base in Italy. Blew away the questions and all that, but my command would never have let me go film. Sigh.,
“Who are 3 people who’ve never been in my kitchen?”
One of my favorite episodes !!
Saw today that Utah has had four players rush for at least 100 yards in a game this season: Ficklin, Dampier, Parker, Bray. I believe that is the first time there has been such an occurrence for the program since 1983 when Mark Stevens, Eddie Lewis, Gerald Johnson, and Daniel Tarver did it.
Your encyclopedic memory of Utah football history is very impressive!
Ha ha, thanks! Too bad I can’t have more important things stored in this brain.
To reference Ute With Dogs, You are the Ute football Cliff Clavin
As of yesterday, Utah has the highest points scored in the B12 and the second to lowest points against (only TTech is better). That doesn’t suck.
And that’s with the highest in-conference SoS. Really important point.
But it is wins and losses that matter.
Here are stats: Utah has six games this season of 42 points or more. That hasn’t happened since 2004. Also, Utah is fourth in the nation in rushing yards per game, trailing only Army, Air Force, and Navy.
I have always thought that it’s the effort of the young men on the field that matters, though NIL has tainted that just a little.
Wins and losses matter most, but I can accept losses where my team plays hard and just comes up on the wrong end of the stick. The Rose Bowl loss to Ohio is an example. and Urban’s first season we went to Texas A&M and the Utes played hard and came up a yard or two short is another. Our QB broke his arm trying to get in the end zone and the next man up was Alex Smith.
That A&M game in 2003 was interesting. Utah was down 21-0 just 10 minutes into the game and 28-0 at halftime. Came back and nearly tied it on a 2-point conversion. It showed us fans what Urban’s Utes would become. (Although A&M ended up sucking that year; they lost to Oklahoma 77-0.)
