no, 2023 season.
I seem to remember MB did leave, but the leadership council let him back in after a few days and some cooling down. It sounded like it was pretty tense, no unlike the last several weeks with infighting and factions.
Hmm ā¦ Tavion left before the end of the 2022 season. Didnāt play a down last season.
I believe it was at the end of the 2022 season, so this went down Jan of 2023. MB withdrew from the portal and came back Jan 28 even though TT left the team and declared for the draft late Nov 2022. I think there was still some bad blood around with some residual effects.
I can see that. Whit makes what, $6 million a year? He needs to clean house.
Well thatās gotta make this a historic season.
For all the wrong reasons.
Sad to see Rose finally get a chance and then thisā¦
Season ended 5 weeks ago. We just didnāt fully realize it.
Time to watch Hallmark Christmas movies I guess.
After last seasonās injury-riddled debacle, I figured there was no way it could happen again. The law of averages would play in Utahās favor. But here we are. Again.
Either Utah is cursed, they are the unluckiest team in the nation, or something is incredibly wrong with the strength and conditioning program.
At least Wilson is available.
Itās a brutal occasion.
Anyone else gone from the team for the remainder of the season yet? It seems like we are averaging more than 1 a week.
I realize the U canāt give out negative information about a major sponsor (UA) but can anyone do a chart comparing our season ending injuries at home vs other teams? It would also be interesting to see how many teams who visit our field have leg injuries vs when they visit other fields.
Iām sure someone at the U has to parse data like this but itās also clear that $$ and probably some NDA would prevent them from ever releasing it. We are all college grads though so there has to be a way to analyze it beyond anecdotes and impressions.
I would love to see something like this too. I canāt get over how injuries this team suffers. Itās uncanny. I canāt imagine how frustrating it is for Whit and his staff and, of course, the other players. But some folks on the staff and in the athletic program need to take a serious, deep look at what is happening. I simply canāt be bad luck only, can it?
I just did this from memory, so I could be off slightly, but in Whitās 20 seasons as coach, only four times (2006, 2008, 2016, 2019) did a quarterback start every game of the season. In some instances, there were different starters due to poor performances and switching to someone else for a spark, etc., but the injuries at QB in particular have been unbelievable. Some injuries have kept a QB out for a game or two or three, but there have been many season-ending injuries too. I donāt know how this compares to other teams, but I canāt imagine many, if any, other programs have had such injury woes, especially at QB, the most important position in sports.
Season essentially ended when Cam was thrown into the water table in the Baylor game
I think Iād rather watch documentaries of insects copulating than do that.
I remember at the time actually thinking that. I honestly thought he would be done, which, of course, save that ASU debacle, he was. But I thought Utah could still muster a few wins.
I avoid the Facebook pages about Utah football and basketball, but somebody sent this post to me.
This is so odd, Iām beginning to wonder if maybe the University ought to hire some outside expert in sports medicine and ask them to analyze whatās going on inside the program. Thereās got to be an explanation for this, itās too much of an aberration to be just chance. Iām not talking about any foul play, or anything of that nature. Just something seems to be wrong. Strength training? The athletesā diet in the dining hall? Voodoo?
for those that havent seen this, a reporter asked Whit yesterday about all the injuries over the past few years. Hereās a video clip of Whitt talking about it.
I think he jammed that finger face masking an approaching 330llb linebacker with a grill like a RAM 250 pickup, but weāll never know
And the hits just keep on comingā¦
Utah could have an entirely different team next season. Seriously.
