I have said this a few times already, but this loss is on Whit. This was a very, very winnable game. The decisions to not kick the field goals were awful. Plus, to give up two fourth-quarter touchdowns to a freshman QB is hard to swallow.
I don’t think anyone has to overthink it. In a defensive slugfest points are at a premium.
We were not dominating the offensive line of scrimmage but the D was playing tough. Take the FGs.
Oh my the punt. Ugh. Get under it or get out of the way and let it bounce. Do not dive for the catch. Sigh.
I still believe that they should have taken the easy 3 on the first drive of the game, but if you watch the replay, No. 12 totally fails to get close to the guy he is supposed to block and who makes the tackle on Bray. He didn’t even need to block him. Bray walks in if he simply makes the defender go over him or under him instead of allowing him to go straight at Bray without being touched.
I think it was a good decision to go for it when it was 4th and 7 on the 38. A punt probably gains 15-20 yards of field position. Odds of making a 55 yard FG are not strong in my opinion.
Down 10-7 early in third with ball on BYU 8, kick the FG and tie the game. Can’t find video to see if there was an execution problem
i agree with Gabby Johnson
Howard Johnson is right!
Olson Johnson is right about Howard Johnson being right!
See, this is why I love this place.
