I like that it’s one of the early games. Quickly forgotten, and less practice time to look at next year’s potential.
That’s a shame.
I have to cheer for SMU for so many reasons.
So the Mormons and the Methodists will be getting together for a football game. Will the Catholics win it again? 
I will for sure in that SMU is one of my alma maters.
How many times do you think we’ll have to hear, read, or see them talk about their miracle win in 1981 in the Holiday Bowl against SMU? Sure, it was 41 years ago, but History! Tradition! Band of Brothers! And so forth.
The zoobs are not going to have fun in the Big 12. Of the incoming teams, Cinci, Houston, UCF, and BYU, they may be the third best. They are going to get crushed by all of those programs that eat and breathe football 12 months a year.
BYU will fit right in with the other basketball schools of the Big XII. Just like Kansas or West Virginia, they’ll celebrate like it’s 1984 when they go 6-6 and make it to the TaxAct Texas Bowl.
