The transfer portal + NIL + no serious rules = chaos

What a big-market program can do with NIL: This was a give-away at the Dodgers game one week ago:

It is impressive they got that for a QB that averages 9 wins a year who’s biggest win was at OU in the Valero Alamo Bowl.

Lots of raw talent, but that will only get you about half a season in the NFL before the weaknesses get exposed and the DC’s adjust their attacks. The closest defense he will see all season to the NFL (and it ain’t that close) is Utah - and he is already 0-2 against them.

That said, it’s good he is getting paid. I hope he is salting some of that money away, and he does the same with his NFL money. I would hate to see another “Untold Story” on Netflix about him ala Johnny Football.

So, you’re hoping he’s not another Kyler Murray? Well, truth be told I suspect Williams is smarter than Murray. This does make me wonder, since both have or had Lincoln Riley as a head coach in college, how well does Riley prepare his QBs for the pros? Hmmm… Enquiring minds want to know.

Lincoln’s best QB he worked with in the NFL spent most of his time with Nick Saban, Kiffin, and Sark.

USC/Williams was sacked 30 times in 2022 for 247 yards. Utah accounted for 11 of those and 109 yards.

Why do the Dodgers hate their fans?

I mean, who doesn’t hate their fans?

Caleb Williams is an easy guy to hate. He is, IMO, one hell of a QB.

I was pretty shocked to see that item being given away.

Hey!!!

J/K. I’m not even a baseball fan so I don’t know who their rivals are.

I’m still trying to think of a system that has managed to fail everyone who participates as a fan or player so much.

If anything I think the gloom and doom from 2 years ago undersold the scope of the problem.

Why would a team from Brooklyn offer USC toys?
