I was reading about how Dolly wore a wig and all the makeup and revealing glitzy outfits so that she could move about in her private life without being noticed. When she took all that stuff off, she looked like just another regular person. Genius.
I was also reading that she easily could have been a billionaire, but chose to do all the great in the world that she did instead, with little fanfare. Her literacy programs have helped millions.
Finally musically… I don’t really like much of her music; it just isn’t my style, but musically her composition is amazing. Not only what she wrote, but she and her band as they performed were as tight musically as it gets. I can appreciate that.

One of the funniest quotes I’ve heard in the last day related to her love of gardening. When asked whether she dressed all glitzy when she was gardening she replied, “Only when I’m in the front yard.” Brilliant response.
Successful people who come from humble beginnings (Dolly grew up in a one room home with 11 siblings) tend to be more generous with their wealth. Those born with the proverbial silver spoon in their mouth and never know what it is like to struggle often are not.
An important detail that might be a bit rushed over in all of the commentary going on if that she has now passed away after her health began to rapidly decline once her husband passed away after many years of life together. In a sense I’m not surprised that such a brilliant special soul like hers was so dramatically we can by its life partner.
I mean when I lost my Daniel in January of 2017, after having waited until I was 53 to find anybody to have that soul Bond with, I have felt like a part of me is missing. But also understood that I was being called to hang around the planet while longer, and savvy I understand a bit of that is to help be a bright light as much as I can during this incredibly dark time. In this country it’s the darkest time since the civil war, with the absolute essential fabric holding the nation together being literally torn apart day by day. And it doesn’t help that the supreme Court is under whatever technicality still engaging in activity that should have been absolutely unthinkable to anyone with a brain and a heart and a sense of loyalty as to the foundation of the nation.
Well as someone who took care of too many people through a terribly feeling period of their body, I am relief for tim. Ever since his stroke he’s been trying to push your life but it had to have become a boring my nightmare. Cuz it wasn’t just a mile one. But the other things remember is we’re talking 50 years since Rocky horror picture show. I mean it just hit me in the last year or two when Terry guard died that she was the last member left from Young Frankenstein
Here’s something weird. Both Tim Curry, and singer/actress Jaye P. Morgan, died in the last few days. Both were in “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York”. Catherine O’Hara and Brenda Fricker were also in that film and died earlier this year. What is going on?

Re: Dolly Parton, this is an interesting polling result.
Edit to say: As others here have mentioned, her selflessness, generosity, and her example of always looking for a way to help others are remarkable. There are not many like her.
I’m not a fan of twangy country and western, which she was known for early in her career. But as she expanded her horizons, she had some very good covers and collaborations in other genres. No doubt a singular talent and wonderful humanitarian.
