RIP to an absolute legend.
One of my favorites from a movie I watch every time I stumble across it:
Now, understand, Commander, that torpedo did not self-destruct. You heard it hit the hull. And I…[showing him his identification] was never here.
Someone needs to make an image of James Earl Jones as a force ghost. That might become a meme real quick.
“I told you to speak your mind Jack but Jesus!”
Another good performance (I thought) by him was in the movie Swashbuckler from 1976. Good old time pirate movie.
One of my favorite lines, and done with a smirk.
my favorite movie
I almost cry every time I hear Vasili (Sam Neal) say, “I would liked to have seen Montana.”
Awesome film.
How could I have never seen that Top Ten clip before. That was awesome. I am laughing so hard I am crying.
Tito Jackson, brother of Michael Jackson and one of the Jackson 5 died. He was 70.
If I recall correctly, he was also the paramount leader of Yugoslavia for quite a number of years last century.
Tito was also the manager of Studebakers that my friend Michelle dated. We got in under the age of 23 because of that caveat. It’s who you know.
RB for the Dolphins Mercury Morris died at age 77
Both he and Larry Csonka rushed for 1000 yards in 1972
Hadn’t seen it mentioned in this thread or anywhere else but saw an obituary in today’s Salt Lake Tribune for Brad Stone who passed away back on the 11th. Worked with sports media with a number of local teams/stations including Utah, Utah State, Utah Jazz, KALL radio, KUTV, and KTVX.
I remember it was Brad Stone who was interviewing Coach Mac at practice live, when Stone noted that Harold Lusk “never seemed to be at a loss for words”
Mac: “Yeah, no $h1t… wait… are we on the air? Hey, I’m really sorry about that.”
Brad Stone was a real professional, one of the voices that made KALL radio easy to listen to.
It’s interesting that Utah had guys named Brad Stone and Brad Rock, both in sports journalism.
I wonder if they went to Granite High School.
