I think of Les Nessman every time I see the name Chi Chi Rodriquez.
I was going to post that video today, looks like everyone thought about that too.
Chi Chi was such a kind, caring and personable guy. I was working at an FBO at SNA when he came in on a private/ chartered plane , He not only came out smiling and thanking us peons but took the time to go inside the office to thank the girls and take pictures.
Canāt say the same for Jackass Nicklaus
What about Palmer?
He had a number of bizjets, wonder how he was to the FBO crews.
Never had the pleasure of meeting Arnie, but flew with a guy that met him and he had nothing but high praise for him. He said Arnie acted like he was the only guy in the room and gave him undivided attention for 10 minutes at a crowded party where everyone was vying for his time.
Iām pretty sure he was friendly and personable. He was an aviation nerd . The fact that he personally responded to all his fan mail should give an indication of what type of man he was. If you havenāt watched the Documentary on him, I would highly recommend it.
It was 1990 and Nicklaus was coming into our FBO, I was pretty geeked up as my dad and I used to watch Jack tear it up and remember cheering him on in the 86 Masters with my Pops, I went and got 2 golf clubs from my car to marshall in his Gulfstream, The pilots laughed and I was excited to see him in person. When the stairs came down and he walked down I saisd " Hi Mr. Nicklaus Im a big fan and welcome to Orange County " He looked at me like I was subhuman and walked into his limo without any acknowledgement at all. I thought, what a Fān prick ! Countless times I yelled Noonan every time I saw him putt after that.
Have you played any of the courses heās designed? The manās a sadist.
Totally agree !
He was a pioneer in the talk show industry for TV. Thatās really what I recall of Phil Donahue.
I tried to give this a star, but it returned a 500 error. I blame Ludwig.
Donahue was compelling TV.
He was a smart guy, had interesting topics and knowledgeable guestsā¦ it was thought provoking.
Then Springer moved in, the high-brow got nudged aside by the trailer park crowd.
I also got the error. I blame the out-of-bounds plays.
I laughed, forgot, and tried to give āout of bounds playsā a star
former Golden State Warriors player and coach Al Attles died yesterday at age 87.
Very sad news out of the NHL.
Columbus Blue Jackets winger Johnny Gaudreau and his brother killed while biking by a suspected impaired driver.
Preaching to the choir here, but PLEASE be responsible and recognize when itās best to let someone else drive or call a taxi or other means of getting homeā¦ The driver here very hopefully is remorseful but has made a terrible mistake they can never take back.
I donāt know how altered this guy was, but when a sober person is on the phone they arenāt even driving. I think this has more to do with feeling the need to pass two cars at high speed, only to meet them at the red light a half mile up the road.
Slow the ā ā ā ā down! Stop acting like your CRV is in the Brickyard 500 every time you go out to get chips and salsaā¦
James Earl Jones. He was 93.
