Rip 2024 / 2025

Wait one moment. You want cancer to impregnate itself? I mean that’s the only expression I’ve ever heard associated with knock it up.

Approximate knock it off? :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Having lost two relatively close family members to forms of cancer the last 6 or 7 years, including the never to be sufficiently damned pancreatic cancer, having had two vows with it myself, and getting to deal with the lingering effects and threats of no less than 13 different fibrous bone tumors in my ribs skull and pelvic girl, cancer is something I can never ever put out of my mind. Every single year I have to go in for another invasive bone scan.

I learned just this week that Jethro Tull released a new album this year. It’s quite excellent, even if Ian Anderson’s voice isn’t nearly what it used to be.

I don’t remember exactly why I never watched that show but I think it was because it was on one of the cable channels that I didn’t have access to.

It was an HBO show.

If you can get access to it, I cannot possibly recommend it highly enough. It is truly the pinnacle of television drama, imo. Nothing really even comes close.

Well I somewhat appreciated her acting career, having learned in the last several years about some truly terrible and disgraceful thing she had to say about queer man in france, I lost any bit of respect I ever had for her. All your animal activism in the world doesn’t mean anything if you’re willing to treat the entire class of human beings so poorly just because they are different than something you agree with. Or you don’t care for their mannerisms.

Bob Weir, Grateful Dead Co-Founder and Guitarist, Dead at 78 damn. I’m a late to the dance Dead fan. While I liked a lot of what I heard, it wasn’t until seeing Dead & Co in Boulder in 2023 that I really got it. There will never be another band like them. RIP

I always admired the Grateful Dead, and got to see them live for the first and only time when they came to SLC during my senior year at the U in 1995. Amazing show, legendary band. RIP Jerry, Pigpen, Phil, and now Bob.

I am similar to you. It took seeing Dead & Co at Usana a few years ago to really come around as a fan. I was partway through the show and singing along and a friend said “I didn’t know you were a Dead Head” - It was then I clued in that I knew all of their songs but was not really conscious of that fact. I wish I had paid closer attention earlier.

Went to that same concert. The street market was fascinating, the concert was awesome. Our seats were in an area where concert goers set up cameras and mics for the entire show. People all around were burning one down and a guy lights up a cigarette and the crap he took was hilarious.
