True story:
I had an old lawnmower that ran OK, but was starting to smoke a bit. I bought a new one, and set the old one out on the curb for heavy trash pickup. It sat there for 2 weeks. The trash guys would not put it on their truck because it smelled like gas.
So I put a sign on it: Lawnmower. Runs. $10.
It didn’t last the night. Someone stole it. Problem solved.

I did similar with an chair (except for the “it runs” part). A $50 price tag got it hauled off sometime in the dark of night
