Nice site! How do we become donors?

@LAUte

Very timely question! We’re upgrading the donation software. By this weekend we expect it to be working.

Also: Some news. Donations are now tax-deductible. Utefans.net, Inc., is now a non-profit [501(c)(3)] Utah corporation. You might want to wait a week or two for everything to settle down. How to donate will be clear, and donors will automatically be sent a receipt. Now you all can direct your Ute sports passion to one of your favorite charities!

I learned a decade ago, when it was relevant, that I would never EVER be in a tax bracket where deductions were relevant… Simply never made enough income to itemize.

Of course. We hope non-profit status will help people making any donation of any size feel better about doing so. We also hope those who choose not to donate feel the same way about what happens with funds donated. We’re serious about making sure that anything donated goes toward supporting Utah athletics.

What are the donorship levels and incentives?

We’re still working that out. Suggestions welcome.

Level 1: Access to board mail, customization options
Level 2: Automatic blocking of anything posted by GhostofOCGreg
Level 3: UF.N tee shirt
Level 4: Your selection of a sound bite for your ring tone. Choices include Brandon Burton’s FG block, Jake Heaps botching desperation throw with Derrick Shelby recovery for TD, Jim Nance’s “And you better believe it, Utah is going to the Championship,” Freddy Brown’s catch to beat TCU in 2008, and KVH’s tip in against New Mexico.
Level 5: All of the above plus the collected works of the all time master Senioritis from the UF.N archives. Also includes a autographed photo of JohnVA standing in front of his new TV wall.

@HoopUte; lots of good ideas there. We will make it more clear as time goes on that apart from board maintenance costs, almost all of the income will go to Utah athletes as part of our participation in NIL. We have an alliance with the Crimson Collective that will make that easier. For example, the athletes who appear on our video podcast, The Extra Point, are paid for their appearances. It’s not much, but we’re just getting started. We plan to expand it to basketball and to the “non-revenue” sports. We had several women’s basketball team members on last season.

Following up on this, has the new donation site been stood up?
