If you are into mountains, and love the United States of America

“Light artist Gerry Hoffstetter on Thursday projected the American flag onto the 14,692-foot peak of the famous Matterhorn mountain in the Alps in a show of solidarity with the U.S. during the COVID-19 crisis.”

I saw my mom post this on Facebook, and immediately thought it must be fake. I googled it and was impressed to find out it was real.

Just curious - why does it have to be solidarity with the US? I am pretty sure the COVID thing is impacting the whole world.

For the record, I love my country, but that doesn’t mean I think that we merit any more consideration than other nations, especially in a global crisis like this.

Maybe because we are running circles around other nations when it comes to infections and deaths?

Good God! An image of the American flag on a beautiful mountain, with a quote by the artist, and that is an area of contention and disagreement.

Life is too short for grief, or regret, or BULL SH*T. - Edward Abbey
