Glen Smith, Utes All American player in the early 50’s passed away. Glen was the nations leading scorer during one of his years at Utah.
When he graduated he was the Utes all time leading scorer until Billy “The Hill” McGill passed him by. He is still in the top 20 all time scorers, and did so when there was no three point line.
Glen was honored a few years ago as one of Utah’s top 50 players. Besides that, he was a great guy. I was lucky enough to personally know him. He coached me for four years. Still remember the plays he taught us 50 years ago.
