It must be so nice to have a kicker who can routinely drill 50-plus-yard field goals.
Alabama loses. Thatâs a shame.
This was a game I enjoyed watching if for no other reason to see the SEC stfu about how Alabama deserved a CFP slot.
^^This^^
And letâs be honest, Michigan finishing the season with wins over Ohio State and Alabama without any semblance of a passing game whatsoever is pretty impressive
Did college football get rid of the âcelebrationâ penalty? During this bowl season there have been some pretty embarrassing shows after TDâs.
As for me, Iâm rooting for ASU, Oregon, Boise St, and unending power outages in the Sugar Bowl.
I didnât realize that Barry Sanders had another 220 yards in the bowl game that the NCAA doesnât let him count towards his record-breaking seasonâs yardage total (which was only 11 games to begin with). Thatâs INSANE.
Even if Jeanty does break the record tonight, it really doesnât begin to compare with what Barry did. Not to say it wouldnât be a remarkable achievement, but needing an additional 3 games to do it (and leaving out another 200+ yards for Sanders) just isnât an apples to apples comparison.
lol. I was at Disneyland and forgot about the game but just saw the lowlights. Bad Jalen showed up today it appears. Both Alabama and Jalen need fresh starts in 2025
Seriously. Does anybody know?
Not sure - Iâve just come to the conclusion to expect inconsistencies of rule enforcement from game to game, conference to conference.
Saw this quote. Cracked me up.
The selection committee needs to have a real serious discussion about who plays in the Reliaquest Bowl and not just focus on wins.
Iâm always happy to watch Boise State lose, but Iâm getting zero joy from watching Penn State be the team to beat them
I have no animosity toward Boise State. And Penn State can go to hell. So, I hope that Boise can come back, but as I type this Ped State just scored again.
My animosity comes from the many times we lost them during the Chris Peterson era, and particularly the many time they ran the score up on us.
But yes, their opponent tonight should probably have had their program permanently shutdown many years ago, but I guess the NCAA doesnât make any attempt to enforce anything anymore
The university itself shouldâve shut down the program without needing the NCAA to say it. What happened there was that bad.
Then again, Michigan State shouldâve shut theirs down for the same reasons.
Utah only played Chris Petersenâs Boise teams twice. In both instances, I donât remember Boise running up the score. I just remember Utah playing like crap.
Well, Jeanty didnât beat the record, which makes me happy. (Iâm a big Barry Sanders fan.) Knowing Barry had more yards in 11 games than Jeanty did in 14 makes me smile. The Boise kid had a heck of a season. I think the game today showed that he wouldnât have been able to rack up all those yards had Boise played anyone other than Oregon all year.
You are correct, I was thinking Peterson was the coach in a couple earlier games in the late 90s.
And Iâd have to go back and rewatch to see if they were really running up the score but the 2006 (2007?) game in Salt Lake, and the bowl game in 2010 were terrible losses, both 30ish to 3 and I remember feeling that we played poorly, but they took a LOT of joy rubbing the beating in.
Utah also lost to Boise in 98 and 99. Both losses were close. Boiseâs coach was Dirk Koetter those years. In 2006, Utah was drilled 36-3, but Boise was up 33-3 after three quarters. Brett Ratliff was 5 of 21 and threw three interceptions. Horrible game. Of course, that Boise team went 13-0 and beat Oklahoma in that wild Fiesta Bowl.
WellâŚ.remember Boise State is the original BCS BusterâŚ.Iâm amazed how many people still believe this nonsense.
